The Challenge


Soft drinks are a heavily promoted category, with a high number of promotions across a wide range of retailers and channels. The client was using Microsoft Excel and a basic TPM system in the past, but these tools were not able to cope with the increasing complexity of the category. This lead to low visibility of their promotional spend and its effectiveness.

As the client transitioned into a new business and upgraded their Enterprise Application System, they asked Sellex to install a Trade Promotion Management (TPM) tool at the same time.

The Approach


The first step was to build a detailed specification of the client’s needs, and to configure the tool to meet those needs.

During the implementation phase we ensured that the solution interfaced seamlessly with SAP and other data sources, and was ready to launch on time and as originally planned.

Beyond that, we worked with the client to define detailed promotional guidelines and create an integrated business process, both of which would prove critical to their overall TPM vision.

The combined impact of an easy-to-use tool that is embedded into other systems, a strong process and detailed promotional guidelines means Sellex have helped the client to improve their promotional spend management dramatically since launch.

The Outcome


The client is now in their fifth year of using the tool, which has received positive feedback from users and their IT team. It is used regularly by over 200 users across sales, marketing, finance and supply chain.
